Alessia Cibin holds a master’s degree in City and Environment Planning and Policies from Università IUAV di Venezia. Currently, she is writing an article stemming from her master’s thesis “Night Time Economy in Zurich. Actors, Policy Instruments and Urban Governance” which was supervised by Prof Francesca Gelli.
The thesis analyses the case study of Zurich City where intervention measures have been adopted to address the conflict situation in Langstrasse nightlife district. It focuses on decision-making, the role of the key-actors (Night City Council, Bar and Club Commission, Public-Local Administration) and their interaction from an urban governance perspective.
Her educational background and the ten years of experience as Member of the Municipal Council of Ponso (IT) led to her research interests such as urban governance, public policy design and analysis.
She aims to develop her interests and previous research through a PhD further to support decision-makers in night time economy and culture governance.
