In 2016, Energy Control proposed to create a platform to create an informative website around chemsex. This was planned as an interdisciplinary project and developed in co-operation with various friendly organizations working in complementary areas such as LGBT rights, sexual health promotion, HIV treatment, gender, and sexual diversity, social inclusion, and harm reduction.
Its aim is to provide objective information on substances, drug interactions, risks as well as harm reduction tips for this high-risk population. The website is targeted towards MSM that use drugs in a sexual setting and is based on a harm reduction and prevention approach but can be useful to anyone who uses drugs in a sexual context.
The website chem-safe.org was launched in January 2017. In April 2017, an online advice and support service was added, which can be reached by filling in a request form on the website. A video conference service for answering more complicated was added in October 2017.
This presentation will offer quantitative and qualitative data about the results and impact of this 2-year project, and we will discuss opportunities and limitations related to online advice.
