In the Brussels Capital Region, the amplified music broadcasting was previously regulated by a 1977 law. These law prohibited any instantaneous broadcasting above 90 dB(A) and was no longer compatible with field practices. Since 21/02/2018, a new Brussels regulation sets new diffusion thresholds. These aim to protect the health of the public in the establishments, while ensuring the balanced development of a Brussels cultural life.
